Having recently started my new Job at Topshop I thought now
would be a perfect time to pick up a few pieces I have been agonising over for
the past month, things I might not necessarily feel comfortable wearing to
the local grocery store but the sort of pieces that would be perfect for a job
within fashion.
Up until a good few years ago I stayed well clear of anything
denim related. Jeans were a huge no no for me as I found them so uncomfortable
and boring. However my love for denim has been forever growing since I picked up
my first pair of Joni jeans when I was about 13.
Last week I spotted these frayed hem, straight leg beauties
that before now I wouldn’t have even contemplated tying on. The different variations of denim that have
been cropping up this season have really reflected a new light on denim so I
thought now would be a perfect time to try out a pair of jeans that are not
quite so skinny as what I would normally wear. (However I still don’t feel
daring enough for any sort of mom jeans, although I do have my eyes on some gorgeous embroidered ones!)
Now for the mules, a shoe that has taken fashion by a storm
this season. At a first glance of this style I was kind of like ew no! And I
had completed ruled them out as even potential candidates for my spring /
summer wardrobe. However having seen them go vial on various platforms I kind
of grew a new love for mules. When I saw them at work in a brushed light grey
it wasn’t even a question, these were 100% being bought with my uniform
allowance!
I have paired the pieces with a simple vest top and a
leather jacket to add a bit more depth and texture to the outfit.
